Is Your Website Mobile Friendly?
With mobile devices becoming more advanced, the obvious has happened, mobile search has now exceeded desktop search as shown by this graph from a ComScore report.
This trend has not gone unnoticed by Google and therefore as of the 21st of April, Google will be ranking websites with mobile friendly formats higher in organic search results. Therefore, it is now the time to start to think about your website’s mobile capabilities.
To help with that Google has developed some tools to help make sure your site is mobile-friendly:
1. Guide to mobile friendly sites
This comprehensive guide covers all the questions that people commonly ask about mobile and being mobile ready such as; how do I start, what should I think about working with a developer and why make a mobile friendly website. A good place to start is to look at how many users are using tablets and mobile phones to access your site via Google Analytics.
2. Mobile Friendly Test
This tool will assess your URL and report back to you on how mobile friendly your design is. If your site is not mobile friendly it will tell you what you need to work on and provides helpful tips for you to use.
3.Mobile Usability Report
This report is available for those with a Webmaster Tools account and provides a full list of all mobile usability issues across your site.
